A 6am rise marked the first TT of the season and the on-again, off-again rain meant that a few of us were a little underprepared for the damp conditions. Westerley had 14 riders start and a slight detour from one meant only 13 finished (said person is gaining a bit of a reputation for getting lost on straight roads).
Three newbies (Sara, James and Chris made their debut) the word on the street is they loved it and have all signed up for more! With James in particular keen to beat Jenny who was the victor by a mere four seconds in this couple’s battle. We’re all looking forward to the rematch! Fastest home for Westerley was Tim Childs with a time of 23:57; followed by Ian McNally at 25:43; and Dave Newman in at 26:32 minutes.
A strong performance from Dan Noraika saw him win the handicap with a time of 21:02, second was Jeremy Ball (21.21) and third Sarah Percival (21:50).
All in all it was a great start to the season!
